Job Purpose:
This position is part of the Engineering and Regulatory Compliance Team working with the entire Pipeline organization to provide support necessary to operate our pipeline assets and the business in a manner that is safe, reliable, and compliant with all applicable State and Federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage a project from initiation to closure.
- Completing and submitting Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) for stakeholders review and approval.
- Developing a project plan that includes timelines, milestones, and resources needed
- Define project scope and costs to minimize scope creep, schedule site visits with Operations and contractors
- Determine the relevant Crimson, Regulatory, and/or Engineering Standards for local operations and projects.
- Facilitate team meetings ensuing that team members are collaborating effectively.
- Ensure that the processes for design and construction of new facilities and the modification and maintenance of existing facilities meet the requirements of Crimson Engineering Standards and DOT Requirements.
- Create procedures and work plans to define contractor and internal departmental expectations; work with internal departments to ensure procedure is approved by all stakeholders
- Ensure projects incorporate applicable local standards and regulatory requirements and the application of approved procedures in every project involving contractors.
- Bid out work as necessary; onboard contractors and procure materials for a project
- Execute project within the defined budget by scheduling pre-construction meetings, tracking work and costs, directly overseeing, and troubleshooting assigned projects
- Gather documentation and organize per any established guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Recognize if engineering calculations or considerations are needed in each scope of work.
- Work alongside internal or external engineers to develop engineered drawings and necessary calculations. The PM will not be responsible for performing any engineering design work or calculations
- Project locations will be predominantly in the LA Basin Area. Travel up to 25% with a Crimson vehicle.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college strongly preferred.
- B. S. Degree in Science from an accredited college preferred.
Certification:
- PMP preferred, or can be obtained within 1 year of employment
Work Experience:
- 4 years of project management experience is preferred.
- 5-10 years of combined technical experience in Engineering, Maintenance or Operations is preferred
Competency:
- Strong knowledge of Pipeline operations and DOT regulations preferred.
- Understanding and interpreting API, ASME standards preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office and able to learn different software systems (e.g., SharePoint).
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Able to collaborate and work in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others, communicate effectively, manage conflicting priorities, and establish strong rapport with internal and external clients.
